What You Need to Know About H1N1 Pregnant women and young people as well as those with compromised immune systems are most at risk from H1N1 flu. H1N1 flu symptoms are much like those of seasonal flu, including cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, fatigue, diarrhea and vomiting. But only your doctor can provide a definitive diagnosis of H1N1, which can cause serious complications. If you experience difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen, sudden dizziness or confusion, severe or persistent vomiting or flu-like symptoms that keep recurring, see your physician. Children who have rapid, troubled breathing, bluish or gray skin color, who do not drink enough fluids, have trouble interacting or waking up or exhibit increased irritability should be seen immediately by a physician. Creighton Medical Associates family and internal medicine physicians are conveniently located throughout the metropolitan area.
